Talking exclusively to omg! we asked members Piers Agget and Kesi Dryden which of the two singing shows they preferred, with the two agreeing that they were in favour of The Voice.

Piers explained: “Simon Cowell will hate us but I enjoy the Voice more because the judges can’t see the singers which gives it more of a twist.”

Kesi then added: “It kind of lets the music do the talking a little bit more because obviously they [the coaches] can’t see you them [the contestants].”

Piers also explained that he thought TV talent shows are in danger of over producing too many artists at one time meaning that the singers become less involved in songwriting, something that Rudimental feel is key to becoming a credible artist.

He said: “The only problem is it can create too many artists all at one point in the industry.

“It’s really important to keep it about being involved in song writing and heartfelt songs that the singer actually wrote. That is important to us.

Rudimental are currently sitting pretty on top of the iTunes album chart with their debut album ‘Home’ featuring number one singles ‘Feel the Love’ and ‘Waiting all Night’.

Speaking about their success of their first album Piers and Kesi are obviously over the moon.

Piers told us: “[It’s] Amazing, we’ve put a lot of work into it over the last year and half. Just to see it up there and actually selling is such a great feeling.”

Kesi continued: “We wanted to show people that we aren’t just about the singles and it’s about the Rudimental sound from the album so we are really happy to see it going so well.”

Rudimental are will performing a free gig at Manchester's Gorilla today in association with NCS who have created new youth initiatives providing fantastic opportunities for 16 and 17 year olds in the UK.
